I've been posting quick before-and-afters of interior trim work using Behr Marquee paint, but after dropping $500 on targeted ads for residential gigs, I'm lucky if I get a single DM that turns into a quote. It's all just likes from randos and no real leads closing at my $2k average for a full room set. Anyone cracked the code on social media without wasting cash on algorithms that bury you?

man i feel that, sunk $300 into fb ads for my pressure washing gigs last month and got zilch but a few likes from bots that didnt even turn into quotes.

dude, instagram reels for leads? that's like trying to sell paint jobs to a blindfold convention... all likes, no eyeballs on your $2k behr specials.

man, i've sunk hundreds into insta ads for my trim jobs too and it's the same crap, just a bunch of likes from bots and zero real bites.

ditch the ads and collab with local realtors for referrals, i've pulled in three $2k room jobs this month just from their word of mouth. reels are better for showing off your trim cuts with that behr marquee sheen, but targeted fb groups hit closer to actual leads.

instagram reels are a total scam for painters, just a bunch of bots and kids scrolling past your $2k jobs for free likes, stick to door knockin in your neighborhood if you want real bites.

waste of time chasing instagram leads with paid ads, i saw a buddy drop 800 bucks and get buried by the algorithm, ended up with nothing but fake views from bots.

man, same shit here, dumped $300 on fb ads for painting gigs last summer and got nothing but bots liking my posts.

instagram's algorithm is straight up screwing us painters, burying our real work under all that influencer bs while we bleed cash on ads that dont even deliver.

ditch the quick before-and-afters and try time-lapse videos of the actual trim cutting with a graco sprayer, they hook people way better than static shots. tag local spots like hardware stores or realtors to boost shares without burning more ad cash. i've seen that pull in 3-4 solid dms a week for jobs around my $2k range. test one reel like that and track the engagement.

man, same boat here, spent a couple hundred on insta ads for some exterior jobs and got nothin but likes from people who wouldnt know a paint roller from a toilet brush. its frustrating as hell watchin that cash disappear into the algorithm void. feels like social media is just a black hole for us apprentices tryin to build somethin. been there, hang in there dude.

Social media is a scam for painters, man - big tech and those lead gen vampires like Angi are teaming up to suck every solo guy dry while the corporate crews dominate the feed with their fake engagement. Burn it all down and stick to yard signs.

Same here, bro. I've sunk hours into TikTok videos showing off my cut-in work and it feels like shouting into the void - might as well go back to door-knocking neighborhoods with flyers.
