Man, been trying to grow my painting crew by posting job site pics on Instagram and Facebook, but it's a total crapshoot. I throw up before and after shots with Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint jobs, thinking it'll hook some leads, but crickets most days. Spent a couple hours last week editing a time-lapse of a full interior repaint, and got like three likes from old high school buddies. Meanwhile, the algorithm buries it under cat videos or whatever. Feels like I'm wasting time that could be spent actually brushing or rolling on site. Anyone else feel like social media is more hassle than it's worth for us painters? Just want to hit that next level without chasing likes.

ditch the social media grind before it buries your whole business under cat memes, i wasted two years chasing likes and ended up with nada but a sore thumb from scrolling. stick to door knockers and yard signs, thats what actually books the jobs.

same here, bro, i dump hours into those insta reels showing off my benjamin moore aurora jobs and its just bots and randos liking it while real leads go to the guys with ad budgets.

skip the reels and use nextdoor for local leads, way cheaper than ads and real homeowners see it.

ditch the time-lapses unless you're posting daily, OP, or you'll burn out chasing an algorithm that doesn't give a damn about your paint jobs. i wasted months on that crap before switching to targeted facebook ads and actually got leads worth something.

damn algorithms are screwing every trade out there, burying our hard work under a pile of influencers hawking junk while we grind for real jobs.

stick to your brushes and skip the social media grind, i wasted two years on it and my business stalled while competitors just knocked doors and pulled in $80k steady gigs.

social media aint your problem, it's guys paying $500 for those fancy instagram ads while the door knockers clear $80k without a single post.

same shit here, social media is just another way for homeowners and lead services to waste our time while we chase likes instead of real jobs.

social media's a damn scam run by faceless tech bros who couldnt swing a paint roller if their lives depended on it, burying our hard work under endless ads for crap nobody needs. i post my crews best jobs and get zero leads while some influencer with a ring light pulls in clients hand over fist. screw the algorithm, its rigged against us working stiffs trying to make an honest buck.

those damn algorithms are straight-up strangling small crews like ours, burying our hard-earned jobsite pics under endless reels of bullshit while the big franchises with ad budgets dominate.

dude, same here - i dump hours into instagram reels of benjamin moore exteriors and get zilch but spam comments. feels like social media's just a time suck when i could be out bidding real jobs instead.

What kind of hashtags are you using? I've seen painters get more traction with local ones like #DallasPainters or niche stuff.

Same here, been pouring hours into TikTok videos of trim work and it barely moves the needle. Frustrating as hell when a simple yard sign gets more calls.
