man, i'm new to this pest control game, been running solo treating ant trails and roach nests with talstar p around homes for about 6 months now. set up my google business profile like everyone says, but i'm getting ZERO reviews even after solid quarterly services. saw a thread on r/pestcontrol where guys were sharing tips, but it's not clicking for me. someone in the pest control professionals facebook group mentioned optimizing for local searches with keywords like 'bed bug extermination' but i feel like i'm shouting into the void. anyone else dealing with this crap? how do you actually get homeowners to leave those 5 stars after i bait their silverfish problem?

reviews are the lifeblood, but chasing em feels like herding cats on a jobsite. 😂

bribes? that's how you end up with fake ones and google flags ya.

nah, just a sticker on the invoice saying 'review us for a chance at free service'. works 70% of the time.

don't go solo on sketchy calls, always have a check-in protocol with dispatch.

yeah, and carry pepper spray disguised as a duster tube, just in case.

companies skimp on safety to save bucks, it's BS.

i feel ya, started out worried about the same thing after my first rodent bait job.

same here, the isolation hits different on those long driveway properties.

how do you handle the creepy homeowners without backup?

every damn time i knock on a door alone for a wasp nest removal, my heart races.

ask for a pest control buddy system from day one, or find a company that gets it.

frustrated as hell, had a client who made me uncomfortable during a termite inspection.

never ignore your gut on a solo job, call it off if it feels off.

google and yelp are screwing us techs with their algorithms now.

big tech doesn't give a damn about small operators like us.

yep, it's all about the big chains dominating search results.

been solo bug hunting 10 years, the worry fades but never fully goes.

one time a customer 'reviewed' me by leaving a dead roach in my truck. pest control humor at its finest.

follow tommy mello's advice, text a quick link right after service.
