Man, I just finished a quarterly service for an apartment complex using Talstar P and the property manager leaves a 2-star review saying we didn't get all the roaches. Been doing this 8 years and it's the same BS every time, one bad interaction and boom, your online score drops. Tried responding politely but they never change it. Saw a thread on r/pestcontrol where guys were talking about how Google reviews are killing small ops like mine. Someone in Pest Control Professionals group mentioned review gating but that sounds sketchy as hell. What's your strategy for keeping that 4.8+ average without kissing every ass? NGL, it's wearing me down.

Same here, had a client flip out over ants after one treatment and now I'm stuck with that review hanging.

Dude, ants are endless, especially indoors. Did you bait with Advion?

Google is rigged against us techs, those big chains buy reviews or some crap.

It's the algorithm, favors volume over quality. Small guys get screwed.

Don't ever offer refunds based on reviews, sets a bad precedent and invites more demands.

I always ask for reviews right after a good job, text them the link while they're happy.

Smart, but watch out for the FTC rules on that.

Yeah, I do the same with a quick 'how'd we do?' survey first.

Sharkbite for pests? Nah, but seriously, ignore the haters and focus on 5-stars from repeats.

Haha, imagine if we could bait bad reviewers like roaches.

Document everything on the service ticket, photos of treatments too, covers your ass if they complain later.

Talstar is solid but some folks expect zero bugs forever, unrealistic AF.

Feel your pain, lost a big contract last year over one pissed tenant's Yelp rant.

Never pay for review removal, it's a scam and can backfire big time.

Those corporate pest outfits dominate reviews with fake accounts, us independents gotta fight dirty or go under.

Preach, seen Orkin guys handing out gift cards for stars.

Lost two referrals last month cuz of a 3.7 rating from old crap.

Another one bites the dust, my rep took a hit from a false bedbug claim.

I use a simple follow-up email template asking what we can improve, turns negatives around half the time.

Offer a free spot treatment if they update the review, works without being obvious bribery.

Big box pest control chains are flooding the market with paid reviews, killing our organic growth.

Proud to say I built my business on word-of-mouth, barely touch online stuff and still booked solid.

PSA: always get permission before treating near sensitive areas, avoids those 'you poisoned my plants' reviews.

Ugh, just dealt with a similar roach review, felt like crap all week.

Echo that, one bad Google hit and potential clients ghost you.

Controversial take: sometimes it's better to fire the client than chase a good review.

Overheard in the Pest Control Network group that Tommy Mello has tips on this, might check his stuff.
