I've been running pest control ops for over a decade, and let me tell you, trying to juggle termite inspections and ant treatments with just a Google calendar is a recipe for disaster. Last summer we had a big carpenter ant job in the Pacific Northwest, so yeah the rain is real and everything's crawling inside, and I double-booked two techs on the same mosquito fogging route, lost a whole day and pissed off a commercial client who runs a restaurant. PSA: invest in something solid like PestPac or ServiceTitan right from the start, especially if you're expanding from landscaping like I did years ago. Saw a guy in the Pest Control Professionals Facebook group rant about the same crap, ended up missing his kid's game because he was scrambling to reroute after a wasp nest emergency. No prior experience? Get certified first, then build your routes around recurring bed bug and rodent services, that's where the steady money is. Aiming for financial freedom by 30 is doable if you nail the scheduling, but one screw-up and you're chasing callbacks instead of growth. YMMV, but don't say I didn't warn ya.
