Man, trying to cold call these office buildings and warehouses for pest control contracts in north Jersey is pissing me off to no end. Last week I spent $200 on leads from that Angi platform, targeted spots with known ant issues, and got hung up on 15 times before lunch. Using my usual script about preventive Termidor treatments, but these facility managers act like I'm trying to sell them swampland. Saw a post in Pest Control Professionals group where someone said Orkin is dominating the bids with their big truck fleets, making us small guys look like amateurs. Meanwhile, I'm burning gas in my Ford Transit van just to drop off flyers that end up in the trash. Anyone cracked the code on getting past the gatekeepers without sounding desperate? FML, this cold outreach BS is killing my motivation for commercial growth.

Cold calling is like playing roach roulette, half the time you get the 'we have a guy' hangup.

haha roach roulette, stealing that for my next sales meeting.

it's worse when they laugh and ask if you're the exterminator from that bad 80s movie.

don't waste your breath on cold calls, pivot to linkedin outreach for facility managers.

cold outreach sucks when you're competing against the big boys like Orkin.

asking for a friend, what's your open rate on those cold emails? mine's under 5%.

how do you even find the right contact at these commercial spots without burning cash on bad lists?

use hunter.io for emails, way better than buying leads.

yeah, but still, gatekeepers block you faster than a termite swarm.

big corps like Orkin have the budgets to spam everyone, us indies get ignored.

try offering a free initial inspection with bait stations, hooks 'em every time.

cold outreach for pests? just tell 'em about the roaches in their break room, works like a charm.

join Pest Control Network on FB, tons of scripts shared there that actually work.

cold outreach is dead, go digital with targeted google ads for commercial pest needs.

don't do cold calls without recording them, learned that after a bad hangup rant.

upsell during service calls instead, way better conversion than cold anything.
