Georgia here - been doing pest control for 8 years and these new permit requirements for any termite job over a certain size are straight up killing small operators like me. Last week I had to pull permits for a subterranean termite barrier using Termidor SC around a 2,000 sq ft home, which delayed the whole thing by two weeks and cost me $500 in fees alone. The state's saying it's for environmental protection but it feels like they're just padding their pockets while we deal with swarms in the humid summers. Someone in the Pest Control Professionals group was ranting about the same crap, and I saw a similar thread on r/pestcontrol where guys were saying inspectors are getting pickier. How the hell are you all navigating this without losing your mind or your clients? FML, seriously considering just sticking to general pest now.

those damn state bureaucrats in georgia are just screwing over every small pest guy with their endless red tape, acting like we're the ones poisoning the planet when it's their fees killing our businesses.

don't even think about skipping those permits in georgia, i saw a guy get slapped with a $10k fine and lost his license after trying to fly under the radar on a termidor job last year. the inspectors are ruthless now, especially with all the termite swarms hitting atlanta every summer. it'll bite you harder than the bugs if you cut corners. stick it out or get out while you can.

this is why we all need to band together and push back on these regs, they're screwing over every independent bug guy out there.

exactly, the big chains like Orkin just eat the fees and keep going, us solos get buried.

look into the official waiver form from the georgia dept of agriculture, it lets you skirt some minimum treatment standards if the job's been under contract over five years and saves solos a ton of hassle.
