Just dropped $8500 on a new sprayer system for my Ford Transit and now the tranny's acting up after 60k miles hauling Termidor and bait traps all day. These vans are supposed to be workhorses for us bug guys but feels like I'm dumping cash into repairs every season. Anyone else pissed at how quick they crap out on the road?

FML, my last Transit went through three alternators before I traded it for a Ram ProMaster, still haunting me.

Alternators suck on those Fords, especially with all the electrical draw from the foggers.

Yeah, I ditched mine after the second one failed mid-route.

ProMaster's been solid for me, no more breakdowns chasing roaches.

Never buy used fleet vans without a full inspection, I learned that the hard way with a lemon that cost me two weeks of jobs.

Check the undercarriage for rust every oil change, those salt roads eat the frames alive on pest routes.

Get the extended warranty on Fords, saved my ass last year when the AC compressor blew during termite season.

Haha, imagine breaking down with a truck full of ant bait, customers think you're the pest.

Screw the big three automakers, they're jacking up prices while the quality drops, us small pest ops get screwed every time.

Same here, been nursing my Transit along with DIY fixes but it's time to upgrade.

Insurance companies are the real pests, charging an arm for commercial vans that barely last.

This is why PE firms are buying us out, can't compete with their shiny new fleets while we're stuck with lemons.

Big auto and the regulators are in bed together, making it impossible for independents to stay afloat.

Corporate greed is ruining the trades, one breakdown at a time.

Picture this: van dies outside a customer's house, and their dog starts humping the bait bucket while I'm calling a tow. Comedy gold.
