Posted a short clip of me crimping PEX-A with my Milwaukee tool on Instagram yesterday, thinking it'd get some likes from plumbers. Next thing I know, some Karen leaves a 1-star review on my Google profile saying I overcharged her $850 for a simple bathroom repipe job last month. Brand new to this social media crap and already regretting it, these idiots don't even know the difference between PEX and copper.

social media's a damn minefield, man, one quick post and every pissed off karen in town piles on with their fake reviews. i've had to ignore half my google alerts just to keep from losing my mind over BS complaints from jobs that went fine. these idiots wouldn't know PEX from PVC and they think $850's highway robbery for a full repipe.

Yeah, had a guy screenshot my post about using SharkBites and blast me in the comments. Turns out he was the homeowner I charged $1200 to fix his DIY mess.

Don't link your insta to google reviews, that's how they find you. Set up a separate business account and keep personal stuff off.

Too late for me, already mixed 'em. Now every family vacation pic is getting tagged with 'overpriced plumber' BS.

Haha, sounds like my feed after I posted a drain snake job. 'You charged WHAT for that?' Yeah, $300 for the callout alone, cry me a river.

I've built a solid rep over 8 years with nothing but word of mouth, zero social needed. Clients come back because the work holds up, not some filtered pic.

Lmao, welcome to the club. Posted a funny toilet unclog vid and now the wife's commenting on my posts like 'he never does that at home'. Divorce incoming.

Man, I feel you on those fake reviews hitting after a post. Happened to me with a simple faucet swap vid.

Same here, dude. Tried TikTok for lead gen on pipe installs and got buried in troll comments from DIYers.

Ignore the noise and respond professionally to reviews. Say something like 'We stand by our $800 PEX jobs with a 5-year warranty, happy to discuss.' Turns lemons to lemonade.

SharkBites are trash for anything over 1/2 inch, period. Stick to crimps if you wanna avoid callbacks.

Screw these review sites and their algorithms, they're just feeding the homeowner entitlement machine. We bust ass on 100 degree roofs fixing their leaks while they whine online.

FML, just dealt with a similar crapshow after sharing a water heater swap on FB. Client saw it and demanded a refund on her $600 install from last year.
