so im on this repipe job using Uponor PEX-A, everything's going smooth until the inspector shows up. he squints at the lines running through the joists and goes 'this aint code compliant copper?' i almost choked trying not to laugh, explained its PEX with the proper expansion fittings and all. turns out he hadnt seen much PEX in older remodels like this, but after i showed him the certs he signed off no problem. watched a roger wakefield video on pex mistakes before starting, def helped avoid any dumb errors. guy in plumbers united was ranting about similar permit BS last week, asked there too but got mixed advice. these inspectors need a refresher sometimes, SMH.
