Man, I've been trying cold outreach for new plumbing clients the last couple months, door knocking and sending letters about repiping with PEX in old houses, but it's dead silent. We're in Texas so everyone's got their go-to guy from the last flood or something, and I get it, trust is huge in this biz. Hit up a few neighborhoods with flyers offering free inspections for galvanized pipe issues, but only one callback that turned into a $800 leak fix. Someone in the Plumbers United group mentioned using NextDoor for targeted posts, gonna try that next. Watched a Tommy Mello video on his cold calling scripts, might adapt those for residential water heater swaps. Feels like a crapshoot sometimes, especially when you're solo and need steady gigs. TBH, kinda bummed but not giving up yet.

What kinda script are you using for the door knocks? I've had better luck with a quick 'hey, seen any slow drains lately' opener.

That sounds solid, gonna steal it. Mine's too salesy probably.

Try tying it to local code updates, like mentioning the new requirements for backflow preventers on irrigation lines. Got me three solid leads last quarter without pushing too hard.

Ugh, cold outreach sucks when homeowners slam the door on you mid-sentence about their crusty old copper lines. Wasted a whole afternoon last week for nada.

Screw the homeowners who ghost you after a free consult, and don't get me started on the ones who DIY a simple flange replacement then call crying about the flood. We all deal with that BS in plumbing, time to band together and stop taking their crap.
