Customer tried to DIY with SharkBites, now it's a $4500 mess

Had a call today where the homeowner thought he'd save cash by installing SharkBite fittings himself on his PEX lines. Charged him $4500 to rip it all out and redo with proper crimps using Viega pro press tools. Frustrated as hell, these DIY disasters are becoming too common.

asked on r/plumbing about this, everyone said charge full rate no mercy

NEVER trust a sharkbite in a wall, seen too many callbacks that turn into floods

hahaha the look on their face when you pull out the first one is priceless

sharbites are fine if you know what you're doing, but most don't

spent all day yesterday fixing a guy's half-assed install, back killing me now
