Man, running a small plumbing outfit in north jersey, and referrals used to be my bread and butter after fixing up those old cast iron stacks in pre-war homes. But last year I only pulled in $15k from them, mostly from word-of-mouth on water heater swaps with Rheem units. I tried offering $100 gift cards for every successful referral on drain cleaning jobs, but folks just pocket the card and don't spread the word. Saw a post in Plumbers United FB group where a guy said the same, and someone mentioned Tommy Mello's take on incentivizing repeat clients. It's frustrating cause I'm bustin my ass on PEX repipes and still not seeing the growth. Anyone got a system that actually works without breaking the bank?
