Man, im in north jersey and just got hit with a $2,800 premium hike on my liability insurance cuz of one damn job where the PEX-A tubing i used started leaking behind a wall in a remodel. Customer claimed water damage and tried to sue, even though it was their DIY hack job that caused the issue with improper supports. Ive been using Uponor fittings for years without problems, but now the insurer wants more coverage for plumbing liabilities. Saw a similar rant in Plumbers United group about how these claims are killing small shops. Anyone else dealing with this crap? Feels like were getting screwed just for doing residential repipes. Ngl, thinking about switching to a different carrier but not sure whos fairer for plumbers.

stuck with it for 8 years, finally got my coverage up to 2 mil and rates stabilized. worth the upfront cost.

try shopping around with a broker who specializes in trades, saved me 15% on my gl policy last quarter.

what kind of deductible you running on that policy? mine at 1k keeps premiums down but sucks for claims.

us plumbers gotta stick together on this, insurers know were easy targets after every leak story.
