Launched this referral thing last month thinking it'd boost my PEX repipe jobs, offering $50 off for each buddy they send my way with SharkBite fittings. Spent $200 on flyers and stickers just to watch it flop hard, not one damn call came in. TBH, feels like a total waste when I'm already hustlin' for those $2k bathroom remodels. Anyone got a funny story on referrals gone wrong? Saw a post in Plumbers United about this exact BS.
man i tried a referral deal last summer for some basic pipe swaps and got zilch too, feels like throwin money in the wind

try upping that $50 to $100 off their next service and tie it to a specific job like a full bathroom repipe, worked for me when i was pushing PEX installs last year. print the flyers on thicker stock from vistaprint instead of cheap home depot stuff, makes em look more legit and people actually keep em. also hit up nextdoor groups in your area for targeted posts, got three solid leads that way without spending a dime. track who's referring who in a simple google sheet to follow up quick.

tried a referral deal on a roof job once, gave out free shingles and got buddies askin' for 'em to patch their own sheds instead of callin' me. shoulda known roofers dont share their stash easy.
