Set up my Google Business Profile last month and boom, got a referral for a full PEX-A repipe job using Uponor fittings - quoted $2k flat and they jumped on it. Turns out the referrer was a buddy from Plumbers United who saw my profile pop up in searches for 'emergency plumber near me'. Laughed my ass off when the customer said they almost went with a SharkBite hack job from some YouTube tutorial but picked me instead. NGL, it's turning solo gigs into a referral machine without the usual BS.
goddamn angi and thumbtack are such SCAM artists, sucking us dry on leads while google hands out real referrals like candy, makes me wanna burn it all down.

solid move on the GBP, i keep mine updated with fresh photos of pex jobs and it pulls in 2-3 leads a month without paying for ads. add a service area up to 50 miles out if you're not already, helps snag those emergency calls from folks searching 'plumber near me'. watch out for those scam calls pretending to be from google support though, had a buddy almost lose his listing to one.
