Hired a sub last week to run a Ridgid SeeSnake on a tough residential sewer line job, quoted the client $1800 total figuring I'd pocket $600 after his $1200 fee. Guy shows up late, botches the scope by getting it stuck halfway down the 4-inch cast iron stack, and now I'm out an extra $400 to fish it out myself with my own Milwaukee gear. FML, subcontracting these specialty plumbing gigs sounds easy on paper but always bites you in the ass when the sub isn't as sharp as you think.

damn, subs like that make me wanna quit subcontracting altogether, had one last month who jammed a ridgid flexshaft so bad i spent three hours pulling it out of a grease trap. cost me $500 in lost time and the client bitched the whole way. now i only use guys i've worked with before or i just do the camera work myself. fml right there with ya.

i've been running my own ridgid seesnake for 10 years without a single snag, makes that $1200 sub fee feel like a total waste. stick to your own gear and you'll never have these headaches.

subs like that are the WORST, always showin up half-assed and leavin you to clean up their mess while they pocket your cash.

next time vet your subs harder or just bite the bullet and buy your own seesnake mini if you run inspections often, runs about $3k but pays for itself in a season without the headaches. i learned that the hard way after a similar screwup cost me $800 in repairs last year. stick to guys you know from local supply house chats or you'll keep getting burned.

subs like that are the WORST, man, always showing up half-assed and turning your clean gig into a total crap-show. i had one guy last month who couldn't even thread a basic PEX line without kinking it three times, left me chasing leaks for days. these clowns think they can charge $1200 for a simple scope run but cant back it up with any real skill. its like everyones out here undercutting pros with their bargain basement crews and screwing the rest of us. no wonder rates keep climbing, gotta cover for these idiots every time. pissed me off just reading this, hope you got that milwaukee gear holding up through the mess.

subcontractors, man... they're like that one buddy who says he can fix your truck but ends up with the hood off and beer cans everywhere. sounds like your guy's see snake got more adventure than a cat in a yarn factory before it jammed up. i once had a similar crap show, spent half my day untangling the mess while cursing the whole plumbing trade. next time, maybe vet em with a test run on a junk line first, save your wallet the drama 😂

i've subcontracted out three scopes this year with my own subs and pocketed $800 profit each time without a single snag, guess you just got unlucky with that clown.

dont ever sub out a seesnake job unless you know the guy's got at least 5 years scoping cast iron, i seen a buddy lose his whole camera head last month and it cost him 800 to fix.

next time vet your subs with a quick dry run on a scrap line to avoid gettin stuck halfway down that cast iron nightmare.
