I'm down in Louisiana and just got hit with a $15k claim denial after a water heater install went sideways - the damn thing leaked and flooded the basement, but my GL policy with State Farm said it was 'preventable' and wouldn't cover it. Been in the trade 18 years, paying premiums like clockwork, and now they're dragging their feet on this. South Louisiana inspectors are strict as hell on code, and I followed IPC 501.1 to the letter, but nope, insurance says I should've used more PEX clamps. At this rate, how are we supposed to afford the deductible hikes? It's BS, every plumber I talk to has a similar story.

state farm's just a scam for plumbers, they deny everything preventable to save their asses while we foot the bill. switch to a real policy like hartford gl that actually covers code-compliant installs, or we're all screwed.

state farm's just the worst, i've ditched 'em for hartford and still get screwed on claims like this, time to union up and force these insurers to actually cover our asses instead of nickel-and-diming us to death.

man, that sucks... been there with my first solo job where the insurance ghosted me after a simple leak turned into a mess. these companies are all the same, screwing us over while they cash our checks. feel for ya, hope you find a better carrier soon.

switch to a policy with better errors and omissions coverage, like what i get from the Hartford, covers preventable stuff like that clamp oversight for about $2k a year. saved my ass on a similar water heater claim last year, denied by state farm too.

same crap here in georgia, state farm denied my $8k claim last month on a pipe burst they called 'foreseeable' even though i double-checked every joint, it's total BS how they screw us over.

insurance companies be like 'you should've used more clamps' while i'm over here praying my next claim doesn't turn me into a full-time shaman chasing leaks lol

insurance assholes always got some bullshit excuse like more clamps when the real problem is their cheap-ass policies that leave us hangin after 10 years in this crap.

man, same BS here, insurance denied my $8k claim on a slab leak job last month saying i didnt clamp the cpvc right, feels like theyre just waiting to screw us over.

insurance companies are straight up THIEVES, denying legit claims like that just to pad their pockets while we eat the loss on an $8k job.

switched to a specialty gl policy from cna three years back and it's saved my ass twice on leaks like that, no questions asked on clamps or code. been framing for 25 years now and finally feel like the insurance is on my side instead of screwing me over. you guys in plumbing should shop around for those trade-specific carriers, they actually get what we do out here. hell, my premiums went up but the peace of mind is worth every dime.

state farm's got a new hobby: turning plumbers into basement divers for free. should've installed that water heater in a boat next time, less paperwork.

state farm can kiss my ass, they screw every plumber i know with these BS denials, wont even cover basic leaks you followed code on. were all gettin bent over by these insurance crooks, time to shop around before they bankrupt us.

Haha, State Farm? More like State Scam, bro - they denied my claim last year for a simple flange swap, said it was 'act of god' flooding even though I triple-checked the seals.

This is why I dropped my old carrier and switched to something cheaper, but now premiums are up 30% and coverage is shit. Frustrated as hell, had to eat a $8k hit on a repipe job last month because of a 'faulty solder' excuse.

Man, I feel that pain in my wallet. Switched to Hartford and still got burned on a similar leak claim.

Shop around for quotes every year, I went with Travelers and their plumbing-specific rider covers installs up to $20k without the BS denials. Get a broker who knows trades, saved me big time on a boiler job claim.
