Man, after 5 years slinging wrenches solo in north jersey, I rolled out a referral program last spring where folks get $100 Home Depot gift cards for sending me new customers on water heater swaps or PEX repipes. Just hit my best month ever with three referrals landing me a $4500 Rheem tankless install gig from a repeat client who brought in his neighbor. It's all word-of-mouth now, no more chasing leads on Angi. Proud as hell, feels like the hustle's paying dividends. YMMV but if you're in residential plumbing, try tying perks to specific jobs like that.

hell yeah, nothing beats a referral program that ditches angi's bloodsucking leads - mine's hooked on lowes cards now, keeps the hvac gigs rollin without the headache.

angi can go f*ck themselves with their BS leads that cost a fortune and deliver jack shit, referrals are the only way to actually build something real.

tried something like that last year but the cheap bastards in my area wouldnt refer jack shit unless i bumped the gift card to 150 bucks, still barely got two gigs out of it.

smart move tying the $100 cards to specific jobs like that, keeps the referrals targeted. im an apprentice and my boss started doing something similar with $50 lowes cards for drain cleanings, pulled in two extra calls last month.

smart move tying those $100 cards to water heater swaps specifically, i added a $50 visa for drain clears and it bumped my repeat business by 30% without the angi headaches.

Smart move tying the reward to a big-ticket item like tankless, makes the incentive feel worth it without cheapening your service.

Yeah same here, been running a similar setup with $75 credits for drain cleanings and it's doubled my callbacks this year. Feels good when the network starts working for you instead of grinding cold calls.

man, referrals been the only thing keepin my truck full up here in north jersey, otherwise id be screwin around with angi leads all day. that tankless angle sounds smart tho, wish id thought of tyin rewards to somethin big like that sooner. feels good when it finally clicks after chasin scraps.
