Why bother with permits on PEX jobs? Inspectors just nitpick anyway

Had a job last week rerouting some PEX-B lines for a kitchen remodel, and the inspector hit me with a $250 reinspection fee because I didn't pull a permit first. Used Uponor fittings throughout, all code compliant, but nah, they want their paperwork. Screw that, saves time and hassle skipping it on small gigs.

damn inspectors are the biggest pain, hit me with a $150 fine last month for the same crap on a simple bathroom redo and it wasnt even out of code.

inspectors are the biggest pain in the ass, charging $250 for bullshit paperwork while they nitpick every damn fitting like its their job to make us suffer.

those inspectors are a damn joke, hit me with a $300 fine last month for some bs support spacing on pex-a even though it was buried in the wall. gonna start skipping permits on everything under $5k, lifes too short for their power trips.

god damn inspectors are the worst, i had one shut down a whole bathroom rough-in over a 2-inch offset violation, wasted two full days rescheduling everything.

try talking to the building dept ahead of time, i always call and run the scope by them on pex jobs like that. saved me from a couple fees last year, and theyll tell you exactly what needs permitting in your area.
