Been with Travelers for 6 years now on my plumbing GL and workers comp, but premiums jumped to $4500 this year for $1M coverage. Switched to a PEX-only setup to cut down on callbacks that spike my liability. Anyone got a better rate with Chubb or Hartford?

Insurance companies are screwing us all with these BS premium hikes, went from $3200 to $4800 last year for the same coverage. Travelers aint the only crooks, they're all out to bleed us dry.

damn, $4500? thats insane, my premiums with hartford shot up to $5200 last year for the same $1m gl and i aint even had a claim in three years. insurance companies are just screwing us small guys now, jacking rates cuz they can while we bust our asses on jobs. i called around to switch to chubb but their quote was even higher, like $5800, and i was like no way in hell. switched to pex too, thought it'd help but callbacks still happen if the homeowners mess with the fittings. feels like no matter what you do, they find a way to bleed you dry. whats the point of cutting risks if the premiums dont budge? im about ready to go bare bones and pray nothing goes wrong. anyone actually get a decent rate under $4k?

travelers must think we're made of money, jacked my premium up too after one leaky pex job that wasnt even my fault. switched to hartford and saved a couple grand, but now i gotta explain why my insurance hates plumbers lol.

insurance companies are straight up robbing us blind with these premium hikes, my travelers bill shot up to $5200 last year for the same $1M GL and i aint even had a claim in five years. switched to hartford thinking it'd be better but nope, they jacked it another 15% this quarter cuz 'market conditions' or some BS. every damn plumber i talk to is pissed, we're the ones busting our asses in crawlspaces and theyre sitting in offices raking in our money. pex-only is smart but it wont save you from these vultures circling for blood. if we all boycotted for a month maybe they'd notice, but fat chance with everyone scared of going bare. screw em, im shopping around for hiscox now but expect the same crap.

hey man, $4500 sounds brutal, im paying like $3200 right now but my coverage is only 500k so maybe thats why. what kinda claims history you got? that pex-only switch sounds smart, did it actually cut down your callbacks alot? im thinking of doing the same but my boss is stuck on copper. anyone here switched to hiscox or something cheaper? whats the catch with those regional carriers? gonna call around tomorrow.
