Been trying cold outreach through Google Business Profile to drum up more water heater installs, and I dropped $50 on targeted ads last week pointing folks to my profile. It's pulling in a few clicks but no solid leads yet on replacing those old 40-gallon units with Rheem tanks. Anyone else wasting time on this or seeing actual booked jobs from it?

threw $50 at google ads once and all i got was a call from some guy wanting to know if i fix leaky faucets on his imaginary boat. zero jobs, but hey, at least my profile's got more views than my ex's new boyfriend. stick with yard signs, man - cheaper and you might actually catch a real lead before it sinks.

google ads are a total scam sucking money from us small plumbers while the big boys dominate with their budgets, dont waste your time on that crap.

same here, dropped $50 on google ads for water heaters and got zilch but a couple clicks from tire kickers. it's all low intent bs that doesn't turn into real jobs.

google ads is a total scam for us small plumbers, theyre charging us $75 a lead just to get tire-kickers who ghost after one call. waste of that $50, stick to yard signs or somethin that actually works without feedin the google machine.

Don't waste your money on cold outreach ads like that, you'll just burn through cash with no callbacks from desperate homeowners.

Fair point, but if you tweak the keywords to specific stuff like 'emergency drain cleaning' instead of broad plumbing, I've seen it convert better. Try limiting the budget to $20/day first and track the calls coming in.
