Cold outreach via Google Business for plumbing jobs - worth the $50 spend?

Been trying cold outreach through Google Business Profile to drum up more water heater installs, and I dropped $50 on targeted ads last week pointing folks to my profile. It's pulling in a few clicks but no solid leads yet on replacing those old 40-gallon units with Rheem tanks. Anyone else wasting time on this or seeing actual booked jobs from it?

threw $50 at google ads once and all i got was a call from some guy wanting to know if i fix leaky faucets on his imaginary boat. zero jobs, but hey, at least my profile's got more views than my ex's new boyfriend. stick with yard signs, man - cheaper and you might actually catch a real lead before it sinks.

nah, google ads are a goldmine if you target the right keywords like emergency drain cleaning, not some broad plumbing bs. op, you're just feeding the algorithm scraps and wondering why it shits back boat calls.

google ads are a total scam sucking money from us small plumbers while the big boys dominate with their budgets, dont waste your time on that crap.

dropped 50 bucks on google ads for pest jobs once, got more clicks from horny dudes searching 'bed bug bites' than actual clients - least your rheem tanks aint getting catfished.

same here, dropped $50 on google ads for water heaters and got zilch but a couple clicks from tire kickers. it's all low intent bs that doesn't turn into real jobs.

google ads is a total scam for us small plumbers, theyre charging us $75 a lead just to get tire-kickers who ghost after one call. waste of that $50, stick to yard signs or somethin that actually works without feedin the google machine.

yeah man, google ads is just a black hole for cash, same crap we cleaners deal with trying to snag those big facility gigs.

tweak your ad copy to highlight 'same-day Rheem install for $800' and target folks searching 'leaky water heater near me' - that's what got me 3 solid bookings from a $50 spend last month.

google's ads are a total scam, they suck up your $50 and spit out nothing but tire-kickers who ghost you. been burned too many times by their bullshit algorithms, same as every other plumber i know.

Don't waste your money on cold outreach ads like that, you'll just burn through cash with no callbacks from desperate homeowners.

Fair point, but if you tweak the keywords to specific stuff like 'emergency drain cleaning' instead of broad plumbing, I've seen it convert better. Try limiting the budget to $20/day first and track the calls coming in.

tried google ads last year and burned through $800 with like three crap leads that ghosted me, total BS.

google ads are a total scam, burned $500 last summer on leads that turned out to be tire kickers with no budget. i tried tweaking keywords to local plumbing emergencies but still got ghosted every time. it's like they're just farming our money without delivering real customers. screw that, i'm sticking to word of mouth and yard signs from here on out.
