Wrapping my new Ford Transit with plumbing logos and it's costing me $3500 from a local shop, but damn if it ain't worth it for the calls it pulls in. Been using the same old Chevy van for years, but this beast has way more room for my Ridgid SeeSnake and all the PEX fittings. Anyone got tips on keeping the wrap clean after hauling muddy jobs? saw that Roger Wakefield video on truck setups and it got me thinking.
man, i wrapped my work van last year and the mud from roofing jobs ate through the damn vinyl in like six months, had to redo it already and it pissed me off big time.

just power wash it every few jobs or your wrap turns into a mud mural faster than a rookie apprentice's first paycheck disappears. mud's the real boss, makes your shiny new transit look like it crawled out of a ditch party.

pro tip: hose off the wrap after muddy jobs or it'll look like your transit's been rollin in the swamp, but hey, at least the mud hides the scratches from that time i backed into a fence.

don't skimp on the wrap quality or it'll peel off after a couple muddy hauls and leave you with faded logos that scream cheap. i saw a guy's ford transit wrap bubble up from hauling wet drywall scraps and it cost him $2k to redo last year. hit it with a pressure washer on low after every job, but never use harsh chemicals that eat the vinyl. skip the diy touch-ups, they just make it worse.

pro tip: wrap it clean but you'll still end up with mud splatters that make your logo look like it's got a bad spray tan. i power wash mine every saturday and it holds up ok, but dont let the boss catch you hosing down the neighbors driveway too. roger wakefield would probably say i'm doin it wrong lol.

goddamn wrap shops charging an arm and a leg for what should be half that, $3500 is highway robbery when you're just trying to get your business out there. and don't get me started on how the mud and grime from these jobs just eats at it, had to redo mine twice already cuz of crappy materials they use. insurance rates jacked up too now that it's all flashy, like they think we're gonna wrap ourselves around a pole. screw these middlemen, next time im doing it myself with some vinyl from home depot.

man, $3500 on a wrap hits the wallet hard, but yeah, it's pulling jobs like crazy once the mud's off. been there with my transit too, hauling crap all day and coming back looking like i rolled in a ditch. the wrap starts looking beat after a few weeks if you don't rinse it right away. i just hit it with a quick hose and some simple green every job's end, keeps the dirt from baking on. dont let it sit overnight muddy or it'll stain like hell. feels good having the room for all the gear though, no more squeezing the seesnake in like a sardine. same boat, brother.

man, i feel that $3500 hit in my wallet, but yeah its worth it for the jobs it lands. muddy jobs always trash the wrap no matter what, i try hosing it down quick after but it still looks like crap after a few. been there with my transit too, especially hauling that seesnake gear. sucks but you get used to it.

Go with a ceramic coating over the wrap, saves scrubbing off the grime from sewer lines every time. It'll run you another $800 but lasts years.

Ceramic is BS, just hit it with a pressure washer weekly and call it good. Those PE roll-ups are jacking up every damn cost now anyway, makes me sick.
