Man, im up in north jersey and just finished renewing my master plumbers license, had to shell out $850 for the state fees plus continuing ed credits. sat through this boring ass 6 hour class on backflow prevention using Uponor propex stuff that i already know inside out. its like they just wanna bleed us dry every two years, i coulda been out snaking a main line instead of wasting my saturday. and dont get me started on the paperwork, had to submit my journeyman card from 2008 all over again. feels like a racket to keep us in line. anyone else in the area dealing with this bs?

the state's just a bunch of money-grubbing assholes bleeding us dry every renewal, screw that racket. paid $950 last year for my electrical cert and it was the same worthless BS.

yeah, that backflow ce is a total snoozer, try the online version through the nj plumbers association next time, its only 4 hours and you can pause it during commercials. saved me $200 last renewal.

screw the NJ board, theyre just a bunch of desk jockeys pocketing our cash for outdated crap like that uponor class while real plumbers bleed out here. if enough of us skipped the renewal and worked under the table, maybe theyd get the message and cut the fees in half. its a racket designed to keep the little guys down, fight me if you think otherwise.

yeah man, that nj racket's been bleeding me dry every renewal, just paid $700 for my electrical ce and felt like i coulda wired a whole panel instead of sittin through that bs.

yeah that $850 racket in NJ is straight up theft, shoulda just let us renew online for half that. wasted my sunday on some useless electrical CE last month and the instructor couldnt even wire a 240v outlet right, total BS.

damn, that class cost me a whole service call. they had us filling out forms for hours while the instructor was on his phone.

yeah, that uponor ce is a total snoozefest, i just knock mine out online through the state portal to save the drive. saves me about two hours and a tank of gas every renewal.

same shit here, paid the same damn fee last year for online videos that put me right to sleep

screw that, i renewed my own license last month and turned it into a $2k job the next day by networking at the class. feels good knowing i beat the system instead of getting bled dry.

yeah, same racket here in HVAC, dropped $700 on renewal crap last month and the class was just rehashing NEC code 210.8 that i could teach better.

watch out, i know a guy who skipped the ce renewal and got slapped with a $2k fine plus license suspension for six months, dont risk it.

try knocking that 6-hour class down to 4 by picking one with the asse backflow certification test built in, saved me a bundle last renewal.

yeah man, $850 for that backflow snoozefest is straight robbery, i just paid up last month and felt like punching the wall after.

watch your back on those renewal apps, i know a guy who missed the deadline by a day and had to refile the whole damn thing from scratch, cost him an extra $200 and two weeks of downtime.

total racket, the state's just squeezing every last dime outta us hardworking plumbers while they sit on their asses. i'd rather pay off the inspector under the table than jump through these hoops every two years.

that $850 bullshit is straight robbery, every damn renewal they jack it up just to line their pockets. been renewing mine for 15 years and it's the same crap, sitting through classes on stuff like backflow i learned on my first job. paperwork's a nightmare too, had to dig up old certs from 2010 last time and submit em all over again. feels like the state's more interested in bleeding us dry than keeping plumbers legit. north jersey inspectors act like gods with it all, making us jump through hoops for nothing. shoulda just stayed home and fixed my own damn sink instead of wasting the day.

850 bucks for 6 hours? hell, that's basically paying to watch paint dry on a backflow valve... at least you didn't have to fake a smile through the whole thing.

same shit here, paid the 850 and sat through that backflow video like it was punishment. NJ keeps raising the fees but never makes it worth a damn.

yeah, $850 for that garbage is straight robbery, especially when the state's already got its hand in our pocket every damn year. i wasted a whole morning on ce last month and learned jack shit new, total bs.

yeah man, that $850 hit for six hours of bullshit is straight robbery, been there with my own nj plumbing renewal last year. the ce classes feel like a total waste when you're already knee-deep in real jobs every day. state just loves nickel and diming us trades guys to fund their crap. sucks, but hang in there brother.

shop around for a continuing ed provider that bundles the courses for under 500 bucks, i used one last year and saved a couple hundred.

i hate how they make you jump through hoops for something youve been doing for decades, its insulting.

try the online option if your state allows it, saved me a trip to the board office but still cost a fortune.
