Just wrapped up a full tear-off and GAF Timberline re-roof on a ranch-style in central Texas, drought is making everything worse out here with the cracking clay soil shifting decks every season. Homeowner filed the claim legit, hail damage from that storm last spring, but the adjuster lowballed it at $4k saying 'cosmetic only' and denied the rest. I've been in the game 18 years and this BS is killing small crews like mine - we ate the material costs on Malarkey cap sheets already. Saw a similar rant in Roofing Pros FB group last week about Travelers pulling this crap. Anyone else fed up with carriers screwing roofers on legit claims? Time to union up or something.

Man, same here, lost a bundle on a wind claim last month, feels like they're all in on it.

Haha, yeah, adjusters are basically roofers' worst nightmare, mine tried to say nail pops were 'pre-existing' on a 2-year-old CertainTeed job.

SharkBite who? Nah, for roofing claims, fight 'em with drone footage every time - shows the damage crystal clear, saved my ass on a hail job in OK.

Dude, central Texas hail is no joke, but these insurers act like it's pixie dust.

Pissed me off too, had a Owens Corning warranty claim drag on for 6 months, almost bankrupted the crew.

Totally get it, been chasing a similar payout since July.

Switch to independent adjusters if you can, or at least get a public one involved early - ups your odds by 70% IME.
