Getting buried in fake 1-star reviews on google, anyone else?

Man, been in the roofing game 8 years and these google reviews are killing me lately. Just finished a full tear-off and GAF timberline install on a ranch in the greater Atlanta area, customer was happy on site but then drops a 1-star saying we left nails everywhere even though we magnet swept twice. NGL, it's making my profile look like crap and leads are drying up. Saw a similar rant in the Roofing Pros facebook group last week, guys saying it's bots or competitors. Anyone got tips on fighting this BS without looking desperate?

Turned my google profile around by responding to every bad review with photos of the cleanup.

Proud of my 4.8 average after 150 reviews, all legit from residential shingle jobs.

same here, built it slow with referral pics.

Insurance companies are in on it too, flagging legit claims to screw us.

This exact crap happened on my last shingle re-roof, felt so defeated.

Ugh, lost a $15k bid because of one fake review.

Sucks man, been there with a flat roof repair gone wrong in reviews.

Keep records of everything, helped me fight one off.

Don't ignore em, respond professionally every time.

Sharkbite fittings are trash, but reviews? Fight back.

Lost two jobs last month to fake 1-stars.

Respond with facts and pics, turns it around.

Encourage happy customers to review immediately after.

Use a service like birdeye to monitor and respond fast.

Flat roofs get the worst fake complaints imo.

Buried under em after a hail damage claim.

How do you prove it's fake without doxxing?

Happened to me on a commercial flat roof.

Report to google with evidence, they remove some.

Haha, my review said the roof flew away in wind.

Get video walkthroughs signed off by customer.

Don't do free fixes for fake reviewers, charge em.

Yelp and angi are worse than google for this.

Home advisors full of paid bad mouthing.

Thumbtack bots hitting everyone hard.

Flag em as spam with timestamps.

Hit 200 reviews by asking at job end, now 4.9.
