Landed a sweet 15k shingle replacement in central Texas last month, thought it was gonna be smooth sailing with the CertainTeed Landmark we always use. Customer was all smiles until the final walkthrough, then they nitpick every damn granule and want us to redo the valleys for free. TBH, I'm over dealing with these picky homeowners who think they're roofing experts after watching one YouTube vid.

man that sucks, had a similar deal where the HO complained about the ridge cap looking off even though it was perfect.

yeah, always get it in writing upfront or you'll eat the cost.

ha, sounds like my last gig, customer said the color was wrong under 'certain lighting' but it was exact match. we laughed and charged em extra for the comedy show.

LOL, I once had a guy say his roof was 'uneven' after we fixed the sagging deck. dude, gravity.

watch out for those valley installs, one bad crimp and you're leaking next rain.

yep, better over-metal than under, saves headaches later.

over-metal every time, especially in wet areas.

don't let em walk all over you, document everything with pics before and after.

frustrating as hell when you bust your ass and they act like it's their first roof.

i'd tell em to pound sand, life's too short for free redo's.

screw the big corps buying us out, they make this worse with their lowball subs.

try underlayment from GAF next time, holds up better in Texas heat.

insurance adjusters are the real enemy here, always shorting claims.

upsell the premium shingles upfront, less complaints later.

SharkBite for roofs? nah, stick to nails, those push fits are for plumbing hacks.
