Saw this post from Dmitry Lipinskiy on X where he puts their roofing underlayment through a knife test and it just destroys the blade, not the other way around. Made me think about how we pitch durability to homeowners who are shopping around for roof replacements. I've been using GAF felt for years but maybe switching to a synthetic like that could be a selling point in my quotes. Been struggling to convert free inspections into jobs lately, folks just ghost after the initial call. Anyone else using product demos like this in their marketing? Watched a similar tip from Tommy Mello on upselling materials that hold up. Someone in the Roofing Contractors Facebook group was raving about how showing test videos closed a deal last week.

Embed that knife test video right in your proposal emails, turns 'tell me about your materials' into signed contracts every time.

Yeah but don't forget to watermark it so competitors don't steal your pitch. Happened to me last season.

Man, same here, homeowners act interested then vanish. That underlayment demo sounds like gold though, gonna check it out.

Tried demoing synthetic underlayment on a tear-off job and the client still lowballed me for cheap asphalt. Frustrated as hell, these leads are tire-kickers wasting my time.
