been running my own roofing gig for 8 years now, mostly shingle replacements and the occasional metal roof tear-off out here in Arizona the sun beats everything to hell. im getting buried in receipts from Home Depot runs for CertainTeed shingles and nail guns, plus trying to track material costs vs labor on jobs like that 2500 sq ft ranch we did last month. tried QuickBooks Online but it feels like a damn puzzle every quarter for taxes, especially deducting truck mileage and safety gear. anyone else solo in roofing using something simpler, or is a bookkeeper worth the 300 bucks a month? saw a thread on r/Roofing about this and got mixed advice, plus that guy in Roofing Contractors group swears by outsourcing it all.

quickbooks is a trap for roofers, just use a spreadsheet til you blow up.
