Had this nightmare client last week who watched us tear off the old asphalt shingles and install CertainTeed Landmark all day in the pouring rain. We got the underlayment down with that synthetic ice and water shield, nailed everything to code, and even added ridge vents for better airflow. But the guy starts nitpicking every little thing, saying the color doesn't match his 'vision' and accusing us of skimping on the starter strip. I mean, we used 6 nails per shingle like always, and it's holding up fine. Saw a similar story in the Roofing Pros Facebook group where a guy dealt with the same BS. Now he's threatening bad reviews unless we redo sections for free. Anyone else hitting these entitled homeowners who think they're HGTV pros?

Document everything with pics before and after, then hit em with the contract terms. Works every time on these types.

entitled pricks like that are why i started charging a 'consultation fee' just to show up and explain why their ideas suck.

screw these clients, roofing's tough enough without their drama.

SharkBite for roofs? Nah, but seriously, some clients think they can DIY from YouTube and critique pros.

never trust a client who watches too much TV reno shows, they'll nickel and dime you to death.
