I'm out here in central Texas, zone 3 heat beating down while I'm trying to wrap up a hail-damaged asphalt shingle replacement on a ranch-style home, and my go-to sub crew just vanished after laying the first layer of GAF Timberline HDZ. We quoted the whole thing at $18k, including underlayment and ridge vents, but now I'm staring at half a roof and no manpower, FML. Saw a similar rant in the Roofing Contractors Facebook group last week about unreliable subs in storm season, and it's got me boiling. Been doing this 10 years, but these guys are making me question subcontracting altogether. Anyone got solid sub recommendations or should I just bite the bullet and hire full-time?
