Been running my roofing crew out here in rural Ohio for 10 years now, and finding reliable guys who won't flake on shingle installs is impossible. Last month I had to fire a helper after he botched a $2500 asphalt shingle job on a steep pitch, costing me extra for the tear-off. Now I'm back to solo work on most residential re-roofs, which is killing my schedule. How do you all handle hiring for seasonal peaks without getting screwed?

FML, I just hired a guy who showed up to his first ridge vent install with a hangover and dropped his nail gun off the roof, nearly brained the homeowner's dog. Had to let him go mid-shift and finish the $1800 tear-off myself while laughing my ass off at the chaos.
