Man, got a frantic call last night at midnight from this lady screaming that her roof exploded during the storm, so I rush over thinking it's a total GAF shingle blow-off or something catastrophic. Turns out a damn squirrel chewed through the ridge vent and got stuck, knocking tiles everywhere like a furry wrecking ball. Charged her $850 just to clean up the mess and patch the hole with some new CertainTeed shingles, but I couldn't stop laughing the whole time. FML, these late-night calls are gonna kill me.

watch out for those ridge vents, had one where a squirrel chewed right through and the whole thing caved in on a guy last summer, nearly took his arm off. dont skimp on metal mesh screening over em or you'll end up with a bigger mess than you started with. these critters are worse than termites in some spots.
