Man, trying to cold call homeowners for shingle replacements in north jersey is a total crapshoot, I spent $800 on a lead list last month and only landed one $8k job out of 50 calls. We're up here dealing with these old colonial roofs that leak like sieves after every nor'easter, so I figured I'd pitch Owens Corning Duration shingles as the upgrade. But every time I say 'hey, noticed your roof from the street, want a free inspection?' they hang up or tell me to shove it. I'm running a two-man crew and need to scale beyond word-of-mouth, but this door-knocking and phone BS is killing my time. Anyone got a script that actually works without sounding like a scammer? Saw a post on r/Roofing about using postcards instead, might try that next. FML, this cold outreach is pissing me off big time.

dude, cold calling in north jersey is a total shitshow, i've burned through $600 on leads last quarter and got hung up on 40 times out of 60 before landing a single $7k tear-off... feels like every homeowner thinks we're scammers.

cold calling for roofs is a total waste of breath up here in jersey too, half the time they think youre some scam artist before you even mention owens corning.

cold calling is a damn waste of breath up here in jersey, those homeowners hang up faster than a bad shingle in a storm and leave you chasing ghosts for that one win.

cold calling's like asking a stranger to marry you after spotting their leaky roof from the van - no wonder they slam the phone, try whispering sweet nothings about owens corning instead lol.

screw the phone scripts, they're all BS anyway, homeowners hang up because they smell the desperation from a mile away. just hit the doors with a quick 'saw your shingles curling after that last storm, got 5 minutes for a no-pressure look?' and watch the close rate jump to 20% if you're not a pushy asshole. postcards are for pussies who can't handle real sales.

those damn north jersey homeowners hang up on anything that smells like a sales call, it's like they're trained to screw over every roofer trying to make an honest buck.

dont waste your breath on cold calls in north jersey, one wrong word and they slam the phone so hard itll wake the dead, better hit up yard signs or referrals before you burn out your list.

Try starting with 'I saw your roof took a beating from that last storm - free check to avoid bigger headaches?' Had a roofer buddy use that on my block and he got three jobs off it, hilarious how polite panic sells better than straight sales.
