Had this nightmare client who paid $4500 for a full Owens Corning Duration shingle re-roof on their ranch house, then two weeks later calls screaming about a small leak from a valley flashing I swear wasn't there before. Turns out she had her idiot brother-in-law 'check' the attic and poke around, probably dislodging something. Now she's refusing to pay the $800 service call to fix his mess and wants it all comped, like I'm running a charity. These entitled homeowners are killing me, always thinking roofers are made of money.

man, that sounds exactly like the bs i dealt with last month, some lady paid up for a new ridge vent install and then her kid went climbing around up there and blamed me for the 'loose' shingles. now shes whining about a free fix and im sitting here thinking these homeowners treat us like were their personal roof slaves. been there more times than i can count, and it pisses me off every damn time. just bill em and let the lawyers sort it out if they push.

man, those entitled homeowners are the worst, always turning a simple fix into a full-blown war. been there with a client who blamed me for their kid's attic fort, wouldnt pay a dime extra.

these entitled homeowners are the WORST, always poking around and then blaming us for their own screw-ups. had a similar crap-show last month where the client wanted free fixes after their kid climbed up there and trashed the flashing.

document everything with pics of the dislodged flashing and send her a demand letter threatening small claims court, works 9 times out of 10 to get em to pay up.

these entitled homeowners are the WORST, always trying to turn us into their personal fix-it slaves after they botch everything themselves. i had a similar crap-show last month where the client paid up for a full tear-off but then let her nephew climb up there with a ladder he didnt even secure, and boom, now theres damage they blame on my crew's install. she demanded a free redo, like $2500 worth, and wouldnt budge until i threatened to lien the damn house. its like they think were swimming in cash from one job, ignoring how material costs have doubled this year. the valley flashing thing? classic, probably that brother-in-law jabbing around with a flashlight like hes diagnosing a car engine. SMH, why do they never call us pros back right away? instead they play hero and screw the whole setup. we gotta start charging double for these idiots just to cover the headache.

Sounds like she needs a reality check - tell her to send the brother-in-law's bill to her wallet, not yours. 😂
