So I'm laying in bed last night when my phone rings at midnight, and it's this lady screaming about her 'roof' leaking into the gutters. Turns out she watched some YouTube video on spray foam fixes and turned her entire eave into a $200 Great Stuff mess that's now dripping everywhere. I get there at 7am, charge her $650 to tear it out and properly seal with Vycor, and she's still arguing it was a 'genius hack' while I'm scraping foam off her asphalt shingles. NGL, I had to bite my tongue not to laugh in her face.

next time hit her with a quick demo using a proper flashing like flexwrap under the drip edge, shows why foam's a disaster for water diversion. spray it on gutters and it'll expand right into the downspout, clogging everything in a week. i always carry a few samples in the truck to shut down the diy lectures fast. saved me from a couple arguments just this season.
