Out here in north jersey, I started this referral program last year tying in Owens Corning shingles discounts for repeat clients, and it's bumped my revenue up by $8k already. Homeowners love the idea at first, but damn, the pushback when they realize it's not free samples is brutal, like 'I thought this was just for me.' Watched a video from that Roofing Pros guy on YouTube who said to sweeten it with install perks, so I added a $200 credit on the next job, but still getting ghosted half the time. We're in a competitive market with all these old roofs failing after that last storm, so I need this to scale without eating my margins. Anyone else dealing with entitled clients killing the vibe? FML, thought it'd be a win-win. Edit: just closed a $4500 shingle replacement off one referral, so not all bad.

landed three referrals last month off my own owens corning program and it pushed my yearly take to $120k, feels damn good after all the bullshit. started with just a simple $100 gift card for the referrer and homeowners ate it up without the ghosting crap you mentioned. added in some free ridge vent installs to sweeten it and now word's spreading like wildfire in this market. proud as hell it's paying off without killing my time.

man, the entitlement from homeowners is killing me too, had a guy last week swear the referral discount meant free shingles for his whole damn roof. it's like they think we're running a charity out here in this market. added a free ridge vent install to mine and it cut the pushback some, but still get ghosted more than i care to admit. been there, keeps you up at night second guessing the whole program.
